Tips Eco-Friendly traveling

Each year, more than 800 million people to travel – this fantastic figure does not include domestic travel. As economic development in many developing countries, that number will continue to rise.

But on the other hand, a growing number of tourists is a serious impact on the environment.

Mass tourism industry is like a double-edged sword. On the one hand, he brings a positive impact due to the economic support of local people. But on the other hand, it also causes a negative impact, including the increase in carbon emissions, waste, and destruction of nature and archaeological sites.

So what can be done to reduce the negative impact? Should we stop traveling? Certainly do not need such an extreme, but we need to change habits while traveling.

Well, here are the things you can do to reduce the adverse impacts of tourism activities on our earth.

Do not often fly
Aviation is the largest contributor to carbon emissions that cause global warming. According to European Environment Agency’s research, aircraft produce 130.2 grams of carbon dioxide per passenger per kilometer. Compare with ships that produce 43.1 grams, 45.6 grams of diesel trains, and intercity buses are off 66.8 grams of carbon dioxide per passenger per kilometer.

The rise of budget airlines makes more and more people using airplanes. But if the trend is allowed, the adverse effects of global warming will be increasingly felt. If you already understand this fact, take action. Avoid using an airplane if there are other transport options are friendlier to the environment, such as trains, ships and buses.

Reduce your luggage
It is worth noting if you ride an airplane. The more weight your luggage, the more fuel needed to fly the plane. As we all know, means of transport aircraft is the most unfriendly to the environment. Imagine how much energy could be saved if all passengers carrying goods with a minimum amount.

Stop wasting electricity
Before starting the trip, make sure all the lights, air conditioners, and other electronic equipment is turned off when you leave home. Frugal habits also have to keep your power to do while staying at the hotel. Make sure all lights, televisions and air-conditioning was turned off when leaving the room.

Use of public transport
What would happen if all the tourists using private cars and taxis? Congestion will likely occur everywhere, and the level of pollution will also increase. So no more carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere, it’s time you better use of public transportation such as bus and metro travel.

Support the local economy
Make sure your presence as tourists benefit local communities. Stay in a hostel or guest house run by local people, not the hotel of international networking dimodali strangers. Choose also a restaurant and gift shop that clearly belongs to someone local to their business further forward. If local communities more prosperous, it will reduce their environmentally destructive activities, such as poaching of rare animals for sale to tourists.

Press the waste production
Do you realize, we are producing so much garbage when the roads. The easiest example is bottled water. When traveling, we often drink bottled water in plastic bottles which produce waste that very much. To reduce waste, try to take a bottle can be refilled. Just imagine how much waste could be reduced if all tourists do this.

Select is also a restaurant that does not use disposable packaging for the food present. I myself avoid the international fast-food restaurants because they use a lot of food packaging made of plastic and paper.

Maintain the environment
You come to a tourist location to enjoy its beauty, not to destroy. Whenever possible, do not leave any scars after visiting a tourist attraction. Natural and archaeological sites are particularly vulnerable to human hands touch. Do not touch it, let alone pick it up only to be used as souvenirs. Make sure the next visitors can enjoy the beauty of such attractions, just as you already enjoy.
