<g:plusone size="standard" count="true" url="http://twitsland.com/2012/05/gamla-stan-stockholm-city-living-history/"></g:plusone>

Gamla Stan is the old city-owned version of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The city is located on an island called Stadsholmen. Contrast with the surrounding new town, Gamla Stan has cobblestone streets that are not entirely due to the narrow pass of motor vehicles. The old buildings here styled “Brick Gothic”.

In terminology, Gamla Stan meaning “old town”. Gamla means parents; Stan is a shorter version of the “Staden” or the city.

In the midst of this old town square there, surrounded by the design of the narrow streets of medieval style. Walking among the old buildings on cobblestone streets (Cobblestone Street) immediately silence the atmosphere and lead us into the past, seemed to ignore the noise of the city around it.

Gamla Stan is a very popular tourist attraction that is always going crowd here, more so because not all the way to pass a motor vehicle. Humans walked through the town like a mini and solid surf playground. It was like a miniature city.

Some historic buildings are dominant in Gamla Stan, including the cathedral, the Nobel Museum and the Royal Palace. Moreover, many restaurants, cafes, gift shops, book stores and offices are also established here.

My advice, visit when the late afternoon when the sun will sink. The atmosphere is very romantic and unpretentious. Small shops and inviting waiting for us inside. Once tired, stop at one of the tiny cafe or restaurant that serves Swedish meatball legendaries probably it.
Gamla Stan is very easily reached from anywhere in Stockholm. There is a subway (tunnelbana) on the island and the city of Stockholm is relatively easily explored by foot, if you stay on the islands around it. Why do I say the island? Stockholm is a city of islands, where the parts are separated by water. This is what makes this city beautiful views from many sides.

Please note that Stockholm is an expensive city, but it can be handled by looking for accommodation close to the location that we visited, which is relatively inexpensive to buy bread here, a walk and buy tickets for museums (plus transportation tunnelbana) of interest so as not to need to pay each time you log into the museum.

So, if the Europeans, do not just stop at the popular objectives like Paris and Amsterdam, try the cities in northern Europe that is not less beautiful and fun, cold resistant from a little more!

<g:plusone size="standard" count="true" url="http://twitsland.com/2012/05/4-must-see-mexican-eco-tourism-sites/"></g:plusone>

Taking a vacation to Mexico can consist of many things. You may want to see as many archeological sites from the Maya and Aztec civilizations as you can, or laze on the beach at an all-inclusive resort like Ocean Turquesa. Some people want to go to Mexico to take part in tourism which involves its many incredible natural wonders. If you’re in the mood for adventure, be sure to hike, kayak, or climb to some of these sites.

1. The Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve

This ecological reserve is one of Mexico’s many UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and is the breeding ground for thousands of beautiful monarch butterflies each year. Though there are fourteen colonies of the insects spread out over the 200 square miles which make up the park, only two are able to be visited by tourists. Be sure to watch your step; along with clouds of Monarchs, the reserve is also home to foxes, birds, lizards, and snakes who are protected under the government’s conservation laws.

2. The Copper Canyon

This natural wonder is actually a set of six canyons in the state of Chihuahua, fed by rivers which run into the Sea of Cortez. The walls of the canyons are green due to mineral deposits, and the hue is similar to oxidized copper. The spot is home to the native Raramuri tribe, who are known to be incredibly fast runners.

3. Banco Chincorro

This cove is the site of several historic shipwrecks, many of which have never been recovered from the ocean floor. For the curious snorkeling or scuba fan, the two nearly intact Spanish galleon ships are a must see. Banco Chincorro is part of the Sian Ka’an reserve, a huge Heritage site which includes over twenty ancient Maya ruins and covers most of the state of Quintana Roo.

4. Agua Azul

If you’ve ever wondered what highly calcified water will do to a tree, a rock, or an entire river bed, then the waterfalls at Agua Azul are a must see. These beautiful bright blue waters contain very high levels of minerals, which end up deposited on the surrounding scenery. A tree that has partially fallen into the stream now looks as though it is carved from white stone. This spot is quite close to the historic site of Palenque.

<g:plusone size="standard" count="true" url="http://twitsland.com/2012/05/24-hours-in-bangkok-no-ordinary-places-to-visit/"></g:plusone>

Last week we discussed the classic Bangkok places to visit, so this week let’s take a walk to unique places. Bangkok is one of the cities where the places that offer memorable locations are hidden from the surface. An amazing restaurant could be in the back alleys, the best stores hidden in the depths of the market, and delicious food stalls may be sandwiched between the wash, and 7-Eleven. To shorten the search time, here we provide must-visit some sites that are not located in a typical list of places you must visit in Bangkok.

Wat Leng Noi Yi
Built in 1871, Wat Leng Noi Yi, also known as Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, which is the most important temple in Chinatown. Today, the temple was under construction, but not to worry, the beauty of the temple was not only the architecture but also the atmosphere of the temple. The devotee always come at any time, to release the birds from the small cages, pray at the altar, and deliver the request to burn offerings. Last time I came to the temple right in the event of the celebration of dozens of monks were praying in unison. With so many activities that occur, the most prudent thing to do is find a quiet place and enjoy it all. This is quite appropriate window to see the lives of Thai-China.

Wat Leng Noi Yi is on Charoen Krung Road near the intersection of Soi Itsara Nuphap. It was a journey that is far enough from the MRT station in Hualamphong. This place is open daily from 06:00 to 18:00.

Museum of Forensic Department of Health
You must give credit to where it can be embedded in your mind, and the award was the most horrific fall at the museum I have ever visited. There are many things you can see here and none of them are beautiful. (No cameras are allowed to be brought in, so you have to believe in my story)

Fetal abortion victim, crushed skull, a terrible accident victims photo – this is not the place for those who have a weak heart. As said before, if things are grim and terrible is your passion, then this place should not be missed. Hidden in Siriraj Hospital, the museum is exhibiting some of the most frightening things that you cannot imagine, including the preserved remains of two serial killers Thailand’s most famous. In the spirit of the habit of carrying the real Thailand, outside the museum there is a cafe, if you want to enjoy a latte after witnessing the horror of it.

Museum is open from 9:00 to 16:00 every day and admission price 40 baht (equivalent Rp11.557). The hospital is located on the Chao Phraya River, close to the pier Tha Wang Lang Chao Phraya Express. Museum is located at the north end of dozens of buildings are crammed in the land. Quite confusing to find – when trouble please ask in the right direction.

Monk Bowl Village
It feels good to write about this village twice, before I write about the Monk Bowl Village, or Baan Bat, as a historic place worth visiting. Behind a small alley that is the only place in Bangkok in which alms bowls are still made by hand, Baan Bat is one of the most unique places in the city. A flashback to Bangkok in the past. Baan Bat is a small community that tradition of making alms bowls that has been done for hundreds of years. If you simply have an adventurous spirit to come to their villages they will tell you how to make bowls. Furnace is heated with wood, iron newly wrought, two of my favorite things to start the day. Buy a bowl and you will get a tour of the alleys around, and souvenirs are quite attractive with bath reached in 1000 (equivalent Rp288.937) of your pocket.

Bat was in Soi Baan Baan Thanon Bamrung Bat out Meuang. The craftsmen of the bowl to be there from 10:00 to 18:00 o’clock. Bus 508 stops near the site, as well as Khlong Tha Phan Fah cab. Follow the sound of hammer blows and make sure that you get to this particular location, rather than to the location of the bowl maker which has been prepared for tourists who are in the main street.

Hong Kong is a city that looks more vibrant and attractive at night than during the day. However, activity in this city monotone enough evening: dinner and then go home and sleep.

There’s nothing wrong with it. Only, here are some alternative activities you can do in Hong Kong as at nightfall.

1. Squid fishing
Squid fishing only “excuse” to get together with friends, rent a boat and spend the evening with a drink, chat and enjoy a peaceful ocean in the middle of the night.

Squid and cuttlefish emerged at night. With a little seasoning and garlic sauce, sea animals are already feels good.

Simple tools, thread fishing line and hooks. Dip in water, a little wiggle to simulate the movement of a moving fish, and you can capture small squid which will then be cooked by the “crew” ‘boat.

Many companies that rent out boats that can accommodate up to 30 people. Look at www.thelist.com.hk and hk.88db.com for more details.

2. Visiting ‘GWO laan’
Every night, when the Temple Street Night Market began to clean, fruit markets Yau Mai Tei carrier just starting to open.

Better known as the GWO laan, this market is a collection of old buildings hundreds of years old are located along a narrow alley near the corner of Waterloo Road and Reclamation Street.

Although only open from 10 pm, this new market activity peaked at 4 am, when retailers began to busy bidding on an item to the merchant market and topless and tattooed workers carrying crates of apples and lychees.

Market reputation is not very good, but is actually quite safe for tourists to get around. Just do not offend others.

3. Red minibus ride to Mongkok
All the red minibus will go to Mongkok, especially at dawn, when the region became the point of transfer to different routes in Hong Kong.

There are many things in Mongkok that you can see after midnight: a roadside hawker, clothes shops open late, a place to play billiards, and DVD sellers.

Try a bowl of noodles in Aberdeen Fishball and Noodles are open 24 hours (Tung Choi Street 139, +852 2787 6678) or Sea View Congee Shop (103 Argyle Street, +852 2787 7330) before looking for evening entertainment.

4. Roving Cheung Chau
Cheung Chau island is not deserted. If on the other islands like Peng Chau, Mui Wo and Lamma no night life, in Cheung Chau there is a small night market which is open from 10 pm. You can find tasty snacks such as sushi or tong shui here.

Beach here is usually crowded on weekends. Although crowded, you can still find peace in the Peak Road with beautiful views. The ferry will return to Central tonight at 11:45 and 2:20 in the morning.

5. Watch a step on the screen
Hong Kong cinema has a rich cultural heritage, but unfortunately not many alternatives to see films other than non commercial or box office. And even fewer options to watch the step on the screen.

In 2007, the Moonlight Movies is a movie theater open in the dock, close to infinite time. Outdoor film screenings in the past also lived.

Fortunately Rooftop Cinema revive cinema opening by installing a few films. See rooftopcinema.hk for more details.

6. Relax on the beach
Looks plain during the day, the beach will look more tempting in the dim moon, perfect for a romantic date or relaxing with friends.

Bring a mat, a few candles and a bottle of wine – and the beach will be transformed to be a great place for warm summer nights.

If you happen to be on a deserted beach, such as Lamma’s Power Plant, you can light a campfire. Be sure to extinguish the fire after clean up and haul trash.
