One of the relics of history that is widely available in India are the remains of the glory of Islam. Taj Mahal is perhaps the most important relic, but actually there are many other historical relics which is no less beautiful.

Qutb Minar is one of the most tourist sites attract tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists. This ancient mosque complex is located on the outskirts of New Delhi, which can be reached by bus or bajaj.

From the center of Delhi, it takes about 30-40 minutes to reach the Qutb Minar.

Actually the name refers to the Qutb Minar minaret, which until now is still the highest inIndia. Qutb Minar was built in 1192 by Qutbuddin Aibak and completed by Iltutmish.

Brick, Qutb Minar tower looming as high as 72.5 meters and was built as a proof of the triumph of Islam in India. Qutb Minar area was included in the website of the UNESCO world cultural heritage version.

The highest tower is composed of 5 floors which combine the Mughal and Afghan architecture. Diameter of the bottom of the tower is 14.3 meters while the top 2.7 meters. There are 379 steps to the summit, but now tourists are not allowed to ride.

An interesting result of this tower is a wall of carved verses from the Koran. There are also a few words in Kupee who reported that the tower was built to reflect the glory of God.

In the Qutb complex itself – though the tower is the most important component – there areother historical relics which is also very interesting, namely Quwwat Masjid-ul-Islam and theIron Pillar or Pillar of Iron.

Quwwat Masjid-ul-Islam is the oldest mosque in Delhi after Islam invaded India. Own development begins one year after the construction of Qutb Minar. The mosque is alsocommonly called Masjid Jami ‘Mosque of Qutb, or the Great Mosque of Delhi (not to be confused with the Jama’ Masjid in Old Delhi).

According to the Persian-language writings that still exist at the east gate, part of the mosque was built using materials of 27 Jain temples built during the reign of Prithvi RajChauhan and Tomars.

Quwwat Masjid-ul-Islam is now in ruins and of course is not used anymore. However, the pillars, floral motifs and geometric patterns still show the style of Islamic architecture.

Qutb Minar is a tower actually from Quwwat Masjid-ul-Islam, which is used by the muezz into call to prayer. However, the building seems to be two different buildings. Perhaps because the tower Qutb is very large and high, so as to be separate buildings.

On the west side of the mosque there is a gravestone Iltutmish built in 1235.

Iron Pillar is an architecture that has attracted scientists from around the world. Pilar was built in the 4th century as a tribute to the King Candragupta II. 7.2 meters high and at the top of the pillars there are ornamental bird Garuda.

Although it has been established over 1600 years in the open air, the iron pole is not at all rusty.

Other building in this complex is the Alai Minar, Alauddin Khilji headstone, madrasas, and the tomb of Adham Khan. Whole complex is covered by green grass contrast with the redbrick buildings in the complex. It is suitable for those who love photography.
